One of the most promising opening batsman of Nepal, Kiran Agrawal, has announced his retirement from cricket on Friday.
“The future of Nepali cricket is bright, but I am retiring from it as I have to give more time to my business,” Kiran said. Kiran is running a motorcycle showroom in his hometown Dharan. He last played in ICC Trophy 2001 in Canada representing Nepal.
He stepped into international cricket from U-19 Youth World Cup in Sri Lanka and is still has the record of highest individual score among Nepali batsman in his name. His 91 agaisnt Maldives in third ACC Trophy in Sharjah as an opener is the highest individual score by any Nepali batsman in senior international match.
In total, he played four international matches for Nepal scoring 168 runs at an good average of 56.0 that includes two half-centuries. His strike rate is 66.14%. For Nepal U-19, he played 3 matches scoring 24 runs at an average of 8.0.
