David Richardson, the Chief Executive of the International Cricket Council (ICC), has written a formal letter to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on the recent decision to suspend the cricket governing body of Nepal. In the letter to Chatur Bahadur Chand, the ‘elected committee’ President of CAN, dated 22 May 2016, Richardson pointed out reasons for suspension, the consequences of suspension and the conditions to be satisfied by CAN in order for the suspension to be lifted. Dream Fapla, the campaign for the construction of the Fapla International Cricket Stadium in Dhangadi of west Nepal, released the design of the proposed stadium. “The master plan of Fapla International Cricket Stadium is out,” Subash Shahi, the convener of Dream Fapla, said. “We are in the turning point of history being made, the revolution in cricket in Nepal.” Dream Fapla is crowdsourcing funds for the construction of the stadium with a dream to identify Dhangadi as the city of cricket. “Dream Fapla is the project of people which should run in the Public- Private Partnership model,” wrote Shahi on his Facebook. “Today, there lies some hurdle ahead. We will always keep fighting until our goal of international stadium is realized.” Shahi… Read More
