Nepalgunj Girls Lift National Trophy

The men from Nepalgunj might have proved nothing in the national level, but the women are certainly dominating as they lifted the champion’s trophy of the Wai Wai Women’s National Cricket Tournament remaining undefeated throughout. Region No. 5 Nepalgunj won the women’s national trophy for the second time defeating neighbors Region No. 6 Baitadi by 18 runs in the final at the TU Cricket Ground.

Nary Wins Best Female PoY

Nary Thapa, the captain of the national women’s team, won the NSJF-LG Best Female Player of the Year 2064 as cricket also received two other awards in the nation’s top sports awards distribution ceremony in Kathmandu. Cricket Dominates PoY Nomination

Cricket featured on all categories when Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) announced nominees for the nation’s most prestigious sports awards – the NSJF LG Player of the Year Award. Paras Khadka (nominated in three categories) and Nary Thapa (nominated in two categories). Among 27 nominees announced in five categories, 10 were from cricket – four more than football, which has six nominations. Cricket and football is the dominating sports in Nepal.
