Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has selected 18 players from among 26 of those being trained in the closed camp for U-19 Asia Cup to be held in Karachi of Pakistan in third and fourth week of June, according to a press release issued by CAN.
The final 14 players and team captain will be announced soon, said the release.
The surprise exclusion are Basudev Thapa, the middle order batsman who a member of U-19 team last year during Youth Asia Cup and Youth World Cup and Bantu Bataju, the U-15 allrounder.
Those who found a spot in 18 member team are Shakti Guachan, Dipesh Khatri, Prem Chaudhary, Shashi Keshari, Basant Regmi, Raj Shrestha, Manjit Shrestha, Ayush Shrestha, Sarad Veshwakar, Paras Khadka, Yashwant Subedi, Lakpa Lama, Manoj Katuwal, Pramod Basnet, Irfan Siddique, Mahesh Chhettri, Nasir Ansari, and Kaniska Chaugai.
Those who were in the closed camp but excluded are Karna Samant, Rajendra Chand, Basudev Thapa, Bantu Bataju, Ratan Rauniyar, Subash Jaiswal, Samir Thapa, and Munik Shrestha
