The cricket team of United Arab Emirates arrived Kathmandu today morning to play a three-day match of the ACC Fast Track Countries Tournament with Nepal.
Upon arrival, UAE captain Mohd Tauquir told the media that his team was serious about the game and they wanted to play hard. “Last time in Sharjah, Nepal played well and they drew with us,” Tauquir said. “This time its going to be different game.”
The manager of the team added: “It will be very good experience playing here. I hope weather will favor us.” Coach Abid Ali was confident that UAE would perform the best as they had a balanced team with seamers and spinners. “We are ready to go ahead,” he said.
UAE has won two previous three-day matches of the tournament and are in a comfortable position to reach the final while Nepal had drawn both and have to win the game to keep on the realistic hopes of reaching the final.
UAE team will practice at the TU Cricket Ground this afternoon. The match is scheduled to start on Sunday morning at 8:45am.
