Soaltee Crown Plaza announced the organization of the sixth Soaltee Crown Plaza Super Sixes 2004 corporate cricket tournament in Kathmandu today.
The tournament, played under All Play No Work theme, is one of the most sought after corporate sporting event in the country. As usual, 16 teams are given berth to play on first-come-first-serve basis.
“We would like to increase the number of teams but given to the time constraints, we can’t,†Rajiv Malla, the General Manager of Soaltee, said in the press conference. “This time too, more than 26 teams were interested but we could do no more than apologize to them.â€Â
The tournament, to be held under Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN)’s supervision, will be a thre-and-half day event with the semifinals and final on the fourth day. The participating teams are: Nabil Bank, Indian Embassy, British Gurkhas, Standard Chartered Bank, Kumari Bank, Himalayan Bank, ILFC, Gorkha Brewery, Kantipur Publications, APCA Publications, Space Time, Surya Nepal, Bhote Koshi Hydropower Project, Nepal Investment Bank, Nepal Merchant Bank and Soaltee Crowne Plaza.
