When I used to be in National Team; no matter how the heat beats or the sweat melts, there I was with sheer determination, willingness to work hard and most importantly to perform for my country.
There was always one dream that I dreamt when I was a kid playing in a nookad of my hometown of Rajbiraj, was to represent one day for my country and make the whole nation proud by my performance and in the true manner of playing cricket that is ‘Discipline’.
This time around during national squad, there is surprisingly missing some big guns of Nepali cricket. It was a brave move by the selection committee. I was wondering what the effect in Nepali Cricket would occur by the decision taken by the selection committee not to include former Captain Raju Khadka along with Dipendra Choudhary and Mahboob Alam. They are the players who dominated the Nepali Cricket with immense reflection of many good performances. They were some called backbone or the pillars of Nepali Cricket.
This time around they are not in the squad and the selection committee has said; lack of consistency in performance cost them their place in the squad. And the players have responded very professionally that they will fight for the place and this is the environment one must expect from the Nepali players. The more there is fight for the place in the squad the more they will be sign of improvement in Nepali Cricket.
I can speak the heart of dropped players because I was too dropped. It creates the fireball inside the heart of player who have been ejected or dropped. And as I have spent many wonderful cricketing years with these players, I know or I have the feeling that they are coming back and believe me with roars and sure shot-BANG!
All the best wishes to the boys of Roy Luke Dias in Hong Kong.
