The at the Siddheshowar Sports Complex ground at the premises of Siddheshwor Sanskrit Secondary School is being renovated at the cost of 1.5 million rupees to prepare it for the Under-15 Asia Cup.
Bara District Cricket Association and Kalaiya Cricket Club (KCC) own the land. Acting president of KCC, Sushil Chaugai today confirmed that Kaushal Agrawal, former resident of Kalaiya-6, has donated Rs 2,25,000 for the ground. Likewise former national player, Suman Nepal has donated US $500 and KCC’s lifetime member Santosh Chaudhary US$100.
Two turf wickets along with a pavilion and three parapets for spectators are being constructed at the ground under the new scheme. Chaugai also informed that more Nepalese residing in the US had shown interest in extending their help for the resurrection of the ground.
Chaugai expected the ground would be completed by this November. Chaugai believes that the ground would be the second turf wicket besides the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Kirtipur and the people of this cricket crazy district would be able to see international matches at their doorstep.
