Indian Embassy won the Soaltee Super Sixes corporate cricket tournament for the third time in a row with a four wicket win over Standard Chartered Bank in the TU Cricket Ground.
Batting first, Standard Chartered scored 71 runs losing one wicket in allotted five overs. Indian Embassy overcame the total in 4.4 overs losing two wickets. Amit Kumar scored 34 with four sixes for the winning team.
Earlier, in the morning of the last day of the four-day event, Kantipur Publications lost to Standard Chartered by 2 runs while organizing Soaltee Crown Plaza bowed out meekly to Indian Embassy.
In the first semi, Standard Chartered scored 70 runs. Kantipur only managed 68 runs despite 31 retired from captain Durganath Subedi. Indian Embassy overcame Soaltee by six wickets chasing 44 runs that the organizers scored losing all wickets.
Kantipur’s Rohit Sharma, former Under-19 World Cup player, was declared best batsman of the tournament while his teammate Pravin Karn took the best fielder award. Kumari Bank’s Manjay Raj Pandey got the best bowler award while British Gurkha’s Anil Gurung was declared best wicket-keeper.
