Hong Kong national cricket team arrived Kathmandu this morning for their match against Nepal of the ACC Fast Track Countries Tournament/ICC InterContinental Cup.
Hong Kong, who came Nepal from Dubai, UAE, where they lost to UAE by seven wickets in the opening match of the Asian Region ICC InterContinental Cup, will play Nepal at the TU Cricket Stadium from April 30, Saturday to May 2, Monday.
“We are here to win,” Hong Kong coach and former Indian International Robin Singh, who is visiting Nepal for the first time, told the press in his brief reaction.
Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) president Jai Kumar Nath Shah and member Arun Satyal welcomed the guests at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Rahul Sharma and captain Tim Smart will arrive Kathmandu later this afternoon from Hong Kong. Rahul Sharma didn’t play against UAE.
Last year, Hong Kong didn’t played the ICC InterContinental Cup but qualified this year being second in the five-nation ACC Fast Track Countries Tournament. Hong Kong has defeated Nepal by three wickets in the only three-day match played between the countries.
