Region No 4 Bhairahawa entered the final of the Wai Wai Under-19 National Cricket Tournament defeating Region No 1 Biratnagar by 45 runs in the rain-affected match today at the TU Cricket Ground.
Bhairahawa will now meet Region No 3 Kathmandu in Sunday’s final which will be broadcasted live by Nepal Television.
Bhairahawa scored 194 in allotted 50 overs after being invited to bat first. Rain interrupted Biratnagar’s innings after completion of 20 overs – the minimum required to decide the match when they were 62/2.
According to parabola method, Biratnagar would have won the match if they had scored 108 in 20 overs.
Pawan Das was playing on 18 while Rajan Khadgi was on 5 when the match was interrupted. Ashish Lama didn’t open his account while Yashwant Subedi made 30 before being adjudged leg before off Vijay Thapa.
Earlier, Bhairahawa top order performed brilliantly. All the top seven batsmen reached the double figure with Sagar Khadka topscoring with 36 off 87 balls. Utsav Pant (34), Akash Gupta (33), Vijay Thapa (22) and Antim Thapa (21) all scored for Bhairahawa.
