Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) shortlisted 18 players for the upcoming ACC Trophy 2006 to be held from August 12 in Malaysia.
Leg-spinner Raj Kumar Pradhan, a longtime national team regular, has not been included in the team while Mehboob Alam despite being flying out to Qatar has been named.
Off-spinner Sanjam Regmi who was left out for the ICC InterContinental playoff against Namibia has been included.
Other named in the squad include captain Binod Das, Shakti Gauchan, Sharad Vesawkar, Paresh Lohani, Paras Khadka, Kaniska Chaugai, Basant Regmi, Dhirendra Chand, Gyanendra Malla, Raju Basnyat, Manoj Vaishya, Manoj Katuwal, Bijay Thapa, Akash Gupta, Amrit Bhattarai and Antim Thapa.
The selection committee headed by Bijay Kumar Sharma short-listed these players from the initial 33 after a training camp held at Birgunj where the team played two practice matches.
The closed-camp for the team would be held from Wednesday, June 6.
