Rainfall robbed Nepal a victory as the match against lowly Thailand ended drawn at the Club Aman on Thursday.
Nepal won the toss and elected to field first. Thailand scored 29/1 in 15 overs when the match was stopped by rainfall. The match didn’t resume and the two teams shared a point each.
Paras Khadka took the only wicket of the day caught by wicket-keeper Mahesh Chhetri to dismiss Akshay Desai for 3. The result didn’t bring any happiness to the three-time champions. “We were unlucky,†assistant coach Jagat Tamata said.
Nepal is currently at the top of the Group A table with 5 points from three matches while Thailand is at the bottom with a point. Oman, UAE and Singapore all have two points from two games.
