Hong Kong U-15 defeated Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya (BSAM) School by 89 runs in the first practice match at the BSAM Ground.
Hong Kong won the toss and batted first to score 212/7 in allotted 40 overs. Sagar Chandra anchored the innings with 51 runs while Shivam Hemnanai scored 31 runs. Nizakat Khan (28) and Aizaz Khan (22) also made some contributions.
Rabin Shakya was the pick of BSAM bowler as he claimed two wickets in his four overs for 15 runs. Rajan Shakya, Birendra Bista, Jeevan Khadka and Ujjwal Thapa each took a wicket.
The target proved too big for BSAM as they were restricted to 123 in 32.2 overs with man of the match Nizakat Khan and Simon Deep took four wickets each.
Nizakat gave away 36 runs in his 8 overs while Simon bowled only 3.2 overs for 19 runs. Aizaz Khan and Sagar Chandra each took a wicket.
For BSAM, Ujjwal Thapa topscored with 21 runs while Pradeep Khadka (16), Suman Shah (15), Ayush Rana (11) and Rabin Shakya (10) reached double-figure.
Hong Kong rested captain Mark Chapman and key-bowler Niaz Ali for the match. “It was good for experience in the local condition,” Hong Kong coach Sher Lama commented.
Hong Kong is scheduled to practice on Wednesday and play Baluwatar Cricket Academy on Thursday at the same ground.
