CAN criticizes ACC for disqualification

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) flayed the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) decision to disqualify Nepal from the ACC U-15 Elite Cup claiming that the hosts did not fielded any over-age players.

Champions Singapore

Singapore won the ACC U-15 Elite Cup 2007 defeating Kuwait by four wickets in the final played at BSAM Ground, Bhaktapur. Kuwait scored 121/7 in 40 overs choosing to bat first. Opener Apporv Sanjay Gaur scored unbeaten 43 while Sarangdev Krishnan took two wickets. In reply, Singapore were down to 17/4 at one stage but patient batting from Mohit Kulkarki (24), man of the match Prasheen Param (30*) and Usman Manazir (26*) bring them victory in 35th over. It was a sweet revenge for Singapore who had lost to Kuwait by 57 runs during the league stage.

Eight Teams Disqualified; Singapore vs Kuwait for Final

Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has disqualified seven teams – including semifinalists Nepal, Afghanistan and Hong Kong from the ACC U-15 Elite Cup 2007 for fielding over-age players. In absence of eight teams, the remaining two teams Singapore and Kuwait will contest for the title on Monday, December 2, an ACC press release added.
