Biratnagar Girls Start Cricket
When Nepali girls reached the final of the ACC Women’s Cup last year in Malaysia, the girls of Eastern Nepal thought they missed an opportunity – there were no girls from the region having good grassroots level cricket. Two eastern cricketing centers, Biratnagar and Birgunj, didn’t send teams in the national championship – the selection event for the first ever national women’s team. Not to waste another opportunity, the girls of Biratnagar are learning cricket.

Wai Wai to Sponsor Women Cricket
Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) signed a five-year sponsorship contract for women’s cricket with Wai Wai on Thursday. As the sponsor, CG Foods, the producer of Wai Wai, provides CAN with Rs. 500,000 cash annually for regional and national level tournaments apart from trophies and dresses.

Paras Khadka has retained captaincy of the U-19 national squad as Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced the squad for the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup 2008.
