Nepal is drawn in Group B for the inaugural edition of the ACC U-19 Women’s Championship 2008 along with Malaysia, Singapore, Kuwait, Bhutan and big neighbour China.
The event scheduled to be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand from December 13 to 23 this year will see six other teams – namely UAE, Hong Kong, Qatar, Iran, Oman and Thailand – playing in Group A.
Nepali girls begin with Malaysia on Dec 13 at Prem Centre, then meet Bhutan next day at Gymkhana, Singapore (Dec 16 at Prem Centre) and Kuwait (Dec 17 at Gymkhana). Nepal plays China on Dec 20 at Prem Centre. The semifinals between top two teams of each group are scheduled for Dec 22 and the final for Dec 23.
Nepal was the runners-up when ACC held it’s inaugural women’s cup in 2006. The Nepali team will be selected from the players meeting age criteria from the women’s national held in September in Kathmandu that was participated by all six cricket development regions.
All matches of the event will be of 25 overs.
