Nepal outplays Hong Kong
Nepal defeated Hong Kong by 118 runs in the opening match of the ACC Trophy 2010 Elite at the Unity Ground, Kuwait on Wednesday. Winning the toss, Nepal decided to bat first and scored 236/7 in 50 overs. Defending champions Hong Kong could only manage 118 in 33.3 overs.
Nepal to take Hong Kong in opener
Upbeat with the victory in the World Cricket League Division 5, Nepal begin the ACC Trophy Elite 2010 cricket tournament playing defending champions Hong Kong at Unity, Kuwait on Wednesday. Another factor to boost Nepal’s morale for the opening match is that Nepal had beaten Hong Kong in last two meetings. In 2008, before winning the title, Hong Kong lost to Nepal in the league match – a repetition of the result two years earlier.
Singapore lifts ACC U-16 Elite Cup
Nepal lost the first-ever final at the home turf as Singapore lifted the ACC U-16 Elite Cup on Tuesday. Singapore scored 146/6 in 40 overs and bowled out Nepal for 78 runs in 22 overs for a 68-run win.
Squad named for ACC Trophy
UPDATED ON MARCH 25: Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced the national team for the ACC Trophy Elite Cup cricket tournament scheduled for March 29 to April 9 in Kuwait. The selection committee headed by Arun Kumar Satyal named Paras Khadka the skipper.
Nepal, Singapore march into U-16 final
Nepal entered the final of the ACC U-16 Elite Cup defeating Malaysia by 32 runs at the TU Ground. For a change, Dipendra Chand was named man of the match for scoring 43 to help Nepal reach 162 in 39.5 overs after electing to bat first. Bibek Chaudhary and Rajiv Shah each grabbed three wickets to bowl out Malaysia for 130 in 38.1 overs. Nepal will now meet Singapore in March 16’s final at the TU Ground. Singapore beat Hong Kong by 133 runs at the IOE Ground to march into final.
Nepal to meet Malaysia; HK, Singapore proceed
Nepal will meet Malaysia in the semifinal of the ACC U-16 Elite Cup as Malaysia finished runners-up of Group A defeating Thailand by 175 runs at the IOE Ground. Singapore qualified as the Group A winners defeating Saudi Arabia by 5 wickets at BSAM Ground while Hong Kong made into the last four with a 94-run win over Kuwait at the TU Ground.
Nepal enters semi as Singapore, Malaysia win
For 15-year-old Nischal Pandey, the ACC U-16 Elite Cup is already a big success. His third man of the match award winning performance helped helped Nepal enter the semifinals with a 85-run victory over Bahrain at the BSAM Ground. The Chitwan boy scored 74 helping his team reach 206/9 in 40 overs after choosing to bat first and took five wickets with his left-arm spin to restrict Bahrain for 121/9. In Group A matches of the day, Singapore outplayed Thailand for a 175-run victory at TU Ground to put a leg in the semifinals. Malaysia beats Saudi Arabia by six wickets as leaving all three teams having chances of proceeding forward.
Nischal seals Nepal’s second victory
A brilliant all-round performance by Nischal Pandey earned Nepal a second victory in the ACC U-16 Elite Cup. Nischal collected his second man of the match award for scoring 58 runs and taking five wickets as Nepal beat Kuwait by 101 runs at the TU Ground. Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong also earned victory on the second day of the event.

Nepal all set for ACC U-16 Elite Cup
Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) is all set to host the inaugural Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Under-16 Elite Cup beginning on March 8. “ACC has given us the complete responsibility of hosting the event,” CAN president Binaya Raj Pandey said in a press conference. “This is a matter of pride for us.” Eight nations – Nepal, Kuwait, Bahrain, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Saudi Arabia are participating in the event.
Nepal draws HK in ACC Trophy Elite
Nepal will meet defending champions Hong Kong in the ACC Trophy Elite Cup scheduled to begin on March 31 in Kuwait. According to the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), Nepal plays Hong Kong in the Group A league match on March 31 at Unity Ground. Singapore, Kuwait and Oman are other teams in the group.
