Nepal warmed up for the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 4 in Italy by winning both of its practice matches convincingly.
Nepal defeated Cayman Islands, a participating nation in the event, by seven wickets in a warm up matches on August 12. Two days ago, Nepal had defeated overpowered local Bologna Cricket Club by 288 runs.
Cayman Islands was bowled out for 169 in 47 overs at Navile ground. Captain Paras Khadka, pacer Manjit Shrestha, Amrit Bhattarai and left-arm spinner Shakti Gauchan each grabbed two wickets while Rahul Biswokarma and Pradeep Airee got a wicket each.
In reply, Nepal chased the target in 29.2 overs losing three wickets. Anil Mandal missed a century as he was out on 93 while Pradeep Airee, who hit a six for the victory, remained unbeaten on 35. Shakti contributed 27 runs. Mahesh Chhetri was out early on seven.
On Saturday, Nepal open the campaign against United States of America (USA).
On Tuesday, vice captain Gyanendra Malla smashed a century to help his side to a massive 288-run victory.
Nepal batted first and scored a mammoth 367/6 in 50 overs with top scores from Malla (128), skipper Paras Khadka (86) and Anil Mandal (60).
In reply, the local club was dismissed for only 79 all out in the 28th over, with Binod Kumar Das (4-31) and Basant Regmi (3-6) being the pick of the bowlers.
