Yeti Airlines and Agni Air on Monday advanced into the final of the First Wai Wai Corporate Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament.
Yeti Airlines defeated Everest Challengers by 38 runs while Agni Air registered a five-wicket victory over You We Rangers to secure berths in the final.
In the first semifinal played at the TU Ground, Kirtipur, Yeti Airlines won the toss and scored 178 runs losing three wickets. Ravi Sharma scored a quickfire unbeaten 80 runs off 46 balls with 10 fours and two sixes to guide his team to a huge total.
Opener Sandeep Shrestha scored 39 runs off 26 balls with six fours and two huge sixes. Prafulla Vaidya scored 24 runs off 25 balls.
Arun Chand, Narendra Chand and Rabin Thapaliya grabbed a wicket each for Everest Challengers.
Chasing 179 runs for victory, Everest Challengers was able to score 140 runs losing five wickets. Opener Om Karmacharya scored 33 runs off 46 balls with four fours. Rabin Thapaliya was not out on 27 runs off 12 balls while Dhiraj Joshi scored a run-a-ball 25.
Prafulla Vaidya grabbed four wickets in four overs conceding 19 runs while Sandeep Shrestha took a wicket for Yeti Airlines.
In another semifinal, You We Rangers won the toss and posted a modest total of 135 runs losing six wickets. Opener Chirag Mahipal scored 39 runs off 27 balls with four fours and two huge sixes. Aditya Todi scored 34 runs off 43 balls.
Saurav KC grabbed three wickets while Rabindra Singh took two wickets and Gaurav Jain grabbed a wicket for Agni Air.
In reply, Agni Air successfully reached the target of 136 runs in 19 overs losing five wickets. Opener Nazir Sheikh scored an unbeaten 54 runs off 52 balls with seven fours and a huge six. Prajwal Shrestha scored a run-a-ball 26.
Vivek Khetan and Rahul Dhanuka grabbed two wickets each while Chirag Mahipal took a wicket for You We Rangers. Agni Air received 31 runs as extras.
