Nepal won its first match in the Blind Cricket World Cup on Sunday as it thrashed Bangladesh by nine wickets at the LD Srinatham Stadium in Bangalore, India.
Nepal elected to field first and restricted Bangladesh to 154/7 in the allotted 20 overs. Surya Prasad Bhattarai, Ammar Oli and Ram Prasad Paudel took two wickets each while Bikram Bahadur Rana claimed a wicket for the Nepali team.
Nepali batsmen then put up a brilliant performance and met the target in 7.3 overs losing only one wicket. Surya Prasad Bhattarai scored an unbeaten 78 runs while Bikram Bahadur Rana struck 54 runs before he was run out. Ram Prasad Paudel remained unbeaten on 12 runs.
According to Cricket Association of Blind, Nepal Chairman Pawan Ghimire, Bhattarai was adjudged man-of-the-match for his all-round performance.
Nepal will take on Sri Lanka on Tuesday at the Central College Stadium ground.
