Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) XI suffered yet another defeat in the 31st All India Uttarakhand Gold Cup Cricket Tournament in Dehradun, India.
CAN XI, which started the tournament in winning note defeating Uttarakhand XI, lost to Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, India by nine wickets on Wednesday.
CAN XI, led by captain Prithu Baskota, had lost to Dena Bank by 28 runs in its second match on Monday.
CAN XI elected to bat but was all out for 58 runs in 22 overs. ONGC met the small target in 6.1 overs. Sagar Pun has taken the wicket for Nepali team.
According to CAN XI coach Binod Das, all Nepalis batsmen played poor shots to throw their wickets away. Anil Mandal, Pradeep Airee, Naresh Budhair, Binod Bhandari, Sagar Pun, Shakti Gauchan and Bhuwan Karki all got out for single figures and scored only 10 runs among them.
Prithu Baskota and Rajesh Pulami managed to score 16 runs each but they also failed to continue.
“None of our batsmen could stay on the wicket to put up a fight against the team that included two Test players — Ajay Ratra and Sharandeep Singh — and Ranji Trophy players like Pravin Gupta, Tanmay Shrivastav and others,” said Das.
