Dhangadhi Cricket Academy (DCA) wrapped up its Sri Lanka tour on Monday with four wins and five defeats in friendly matches.
DCA was beaten in its ninth and final match on Monday, losing to host Ravi Puchihawa Cricket Academy (RPCA) by 42 runs in Matale, the administrative capital of the Central Province of Sri Lanka.
RPCA won the toss and elected to bat on its home ground at the Bernard Cricket Stadium. The hosts were all out for 138 in 19 overs. Altaf Mohammad scored 27 runs for RPCA while Gihan Herath added 20. Tekendra Khadka, Aashutosh Kunwar and Amar Panthi took two wickets each for DCA.
Chasing a target of 139, DCA was packed for just 96 runs. Nuren Ansari top scored with 34 runs for DCA. DCA skipper Dipendra Thapa was named man-of-the-series for scoring 223 runs throughout the tour and taking five wickets. Roshan Adhikhari (194 runs) and Aashutosh Kunwar (18 wickets) were declared the best batsman and best bowler.
This tour was the first ever overseas trip for a Nepali cricket club. DCA President Subash Shahi said that the tour was fruitful as the players got opportunity to learn a lot from their Sri Lankan counterparts.
