Heartbreak in Colombo
BY DEVENDRA SUBEDI, COLOMBO Yashwant Subedi could have become a hero by hitting four runs in the last two balls for a remarkable victory against Zimbabwe today at the Colombo Cricket Club . But that wasn’t to be as Gary Balance coolly bowled a dot ball and then bowled him off the last ball for Zimbabwe’s two-run victory.

Youth World Cup Groups/Schedule
Nepal filled the last remaining spot in the Youth World Cup 2006 by winning the ACC U-19 Cup. Nepal join England, Zimbabwe and Ireland in Group D and will play the first match agaisnt England, who coincidently, has played against Nepal in every of last four Youth World Cup, on February 6. Malaysia, Qatar & Kuwait Enter Semi
Nepal, Malaysia, Qatar and Kuwait, all the seeded nations and the group winners in the league round entered the semifinal of the ACC U-19 Cup. The four were also the semifinalists in the last ACC U-19 Cup in Karachi, Pakistan. In semifinal, Nepal will play Kuwait at TU Ground while Qatar and Malaysia lock horns at Tundikhel.

Happy Officials Debate Nationality

Kuwait and Malaysia confirmed their places in the quarterfinals from Saturday’s results despite not playing any match on the day. With them, four teams have already qualified for the last eight- the other two teams being Nepal and Qatar.

Second Win for Qatar, Kuwait; S Arabia win
Qatar & Kuwait recorded their second win in the tournament almost ensuring their entry to the knock-out stage of the ACC U-19 Cup. Qatar thrashed Oman while Kuwait proved win against Afghanistan wasn’t a fluke with win over UAE. Saudi Arabia overcame Maldives challenge.
