Battle for two spots in Cricket World Cup 2015 set to begin
The ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier New Zealand 2014 (CWCQ) gets under way on Monday 13 January, with 10 of the leading Associate and Affiliate sides in the world vying for the final two qualification spots in the ICC’s pinnacle event, the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 (CWC). Nepal needs to adopt to seam: Dassanayake
The ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier New Zealand 2014 (CWCQ) will see former Test cricketers Aqib Javed, Paul Collingwood and Pubudu Dassanayake guide the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Scotland and Nepal as the sides battle it out for the final two qualification positions at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 (CWC). Pubudu Dassanayake, who coached Canada at the last ICC CWC and is guiding Nepal in this edition of the ICC CWCQ, also pointed out the importance of basics for his Nepal players, saying: “They are not familiar with conditions where the ball moves around appreciably and where the batsmen have to counter swing and seam by playing late and leaving a lot early on.”

Nepal, Hong Kong expect titanic struggle

Nepal in Group A for Qualifiers to 2015 World Cup

Nepal enters World T20
Nepal qualified for the ICC World Twenty20 2014 in Bangladesh with a thrilling, five-wicket win over Hong Kong off the last ball in the quarterfinal of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. Sent in to bat, Hong Kong lost its first wicket in the second over, with Irfan Ahmed falling to Jitendra Mukhiya, the medium-pacer, for 8. ICC to live stream four of Nepal’s matches
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the live-streaming schedule for the upcoming ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier UAE 2013, which commences in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday. Sixteen matches from the group stages, including four to be played by Nepal, will be live-streamed on the ICC’s official website, www.icc-cricket.com.

Nepal captain Paras Khadka says that his young side has been working hard on its fitness and skills ahead of the upcoming ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier UAE 2013 (WT20Q), which begins on 15 November. Nepal features in Group B alongside strong competition in the form of Afghanistan, The Netherlands, Scotland, Kenya, Bermuda, Denmark and Papua New Guinea.

Nepal meets Denmark in T20 Qualifier opener in November
Nepal will meet Denmark in the opening day of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2013, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said as it announced the schedule of the tournament which will take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 15 to 30 November, 2013. In exactly 100 days, sixteen sides from across the globe will feature in the 15-day tournament which will be played at seven venues – Dubai International Cricket Stadium and ICC Academy grounds No.1 and No.2 in Dubai, Zayed Cricket Stadium and Abu Dhabi Ovals 1 and 2 in Abu Dhabi and the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Nepal secures place in World Cup Qualifiers
Nepal secured promotion to the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2014 along with Uganda after their final group matches of the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Division 3 in Bermuda on Saturday night. On a day when three teams had a chance to claim the vital second position on the table, Nepal defeated Italy by eight wickets and Bermuda defeated USA by five wickets, resulting in Nepal overtaking USA on the points table based on net run rate. Aussie thrashes Nepal
In a day when no Associate nations could impress, heavyweight Australia thrashed Nepal by 212 runs on the third day of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2012 in Queensland, Australia, on Monday. Before the ESPN STAR Sports HD cameras at the Tony Ireland Stadium in Townsville, Australia romped to a impressive victory over Nepal, thanks to a century by opener Cameron Bancroft and a hat-trick by paceman Harry Conway.

Prithu confident of good show against Australia
Nepal captain Prithu Baskota is daring to dream ahead of ICC U19 Cricket World Cup clash against Australia. The ICC Associate nation begins its campaign with a fixture against the host nation at Tony Ireland Stadium in Townsville. U19 WC: Group A preview
Three-time defending champion Australia and 1998 winner England are favourites to progress to the Super League stage from Group A of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2012, which will be staged in Queensland, Australia, from 11 to 26 August. However, both the Full Member countries will need to be on top of their games and cannot afford to be complacent in the presence of Nepal and Ireland in their group.

NZ overpowers Nepal
New Zealand was made to work hard by Nepal before winning its ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2012 warm-up match by 19 runs in Brisbane. Captain Will Young stroked a fine 97 to lift New Zealand to 267-8 in 50 overs but Naresh Budayair led Nepal’s spirited fight back and slammed an excellent 114 as his side finished at 248-9 in 50 overs.

Teams for ICC U19WC
All 16 squads have now been named ahead of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2012, which takes place in Queensland, Australia, from 11-26 August, according to International Cricket Council (ICC). The final Nepal squad consists of Pradeep Airee, Prithu Baskota, Naresh Budhaayer, Ramnaresh Giri, Mahamad Hasim Ansari, Bhuban Karki, Krishna Karki, Avinash Karn, Saurabh Khanal, Gopal Singh, Rahul Kumar Vishwakarma, Rajesh Pulani, Subash Khakurel, Sagar Pun and Fajlur Rahman. WCL Division 4 in September
The International Cricket Council (ICC) today announced that Malaysia will host Pepsi ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Division 4 from 3 to 10 September 2012. Six teams will compete for the opportunity to finish in the top two of the event and ultimately gain promotion to the Pepsi ICC WCL Division 3 which will be held next year.

Nepal to open with Australia in U19 WC
Nepal will meet hosts Australia in it’s opening match of the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup 2012 on August 13 at Tony Ireland Stadium at Townsville. It will play Ireland on August 15 and England on August 16 during the first round matches. Nepal is placed in Group A for the event. Top two teams move to Super League while bottom two teams move to Plate League of the event.
Queensland to host ICC U19 WC 2012
Cricket Australia (CA) and the Queensland Government announced that Queensland will host the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2012. The partnership between the International Cricket Council (ICC), CA, Queensland Cricket and Events Queensland will see Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Townsville hosting teams from around the globe in August next year, with Australia, as current defending champion, aiming to go back-to-back on home soil. Nepal is one of the qualifiers to participate in the event.

Nepal ends on high note beating USA
Nepal ended the ICC U-19 World Cup Qualifiers on high note, and second place, beating USA in the final league match by 99 runs. The result also meant that USA failed to qualify for the Youth World Cup. USA needed to beat Nepal at the Limavady Cricket Club to get through.
Nepal beats PNG, qualifies for U19 WC
Nepal registered a 29-run win over Papua New Guinea to confirm it’s qualification to the ICC U-19 World Cup 2012. At the Coleraine Cricket Club, Nepal posted its most impressive performance yet with the bat. Nepal made 277 for seven in its stipulated 50 overs and bowling out PNG for 248.
K Karki receives reprimands for breaching conduct
Krishna Karki, along with three other players, has been reprimanded and warned after breaching the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel at the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Ireland. Krishna has been found guilty of breaching Article 2.1.1, which relates to the ICC’s clothing and equipment regulations.

Rahul spins Nepal to win over Ireland
Rahul Biswokarma picked up four wickets in final over as Nepal registered a nervous 12-run win over hosts Ireland in the U-19 World Cup Qualifiers. Afghanistan, PNG, Scotland and USA also registered wins on the seventh day of the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Ireland.
