Nepal suffered a 35-run defeat in their third match in the ICC World T20 Qualifiers in the UAE on Thursday. Nepal had defeated Hong Kong on Tuesday and Denmark on Wednesday. Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) bade farewell to the national team on Saturday amidst a function in the capital. It was the fourth title victory of APF in five tournaments. With the win, APF bagged Rs 150,000 while Western Region received Rs 100,000. Asian Cricket Council (ACC) slapped a 10 per cent penalty on the capital and development grant for Nepal as Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) failed to submit the financial report within the deadline, a national daily reported. “ACC has sent a letter to CAN regarding the penalty after CAN fails to submit financial report of fourth quarter of 2011 within January 20,” Nagarik daily stated.
