CAN today unveiled Surya Nepal’s Shikhar Filter Kings and John Players and Standard Chartered Bank as the sponsors of the revised national league and national team. And, the value of the five year sponsorship deal? Unbelievable Rs. 200,000,000.

New President, New Vision
For Binaya Raj Pandey, the newly appointed president of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), there are quite a few things to sort out. The mismanagement and lack of development initiatives in the Nepal cricket’s governing body have long derailed the future of the game. But with Pandey back in power with his experience of efficiently serving it for 39 years as honorary secretary and the knowledge of the demerits of conflicts, the cricketing fraternity of Nepal is hopeful that his appointment will bring back Nepali cricket on the right path.

WC 2011 Qualification Still Possible
Nepal’s fourth-place finish in the ACC Trophy 2006 almost ended its chances of qualifying for the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Cricket Shines at NSJF Awards
Cricket proved it’s the best sports in the country once again. This time three of the four prestigious Best Players Award organized by Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) went to cricket with national captain Binod Das, U-19 captain Kanishka Chaugai and coach Roy Dias bagging LG NSJF Best Male Player of the Year, LG NSJF Best Rising Player of the Year and LG NSJF Best Coach of the Year awards respectively.
