Nepal came up with a brilliant performance all round to beat United States of America by 32 runs in the World Cricket League Division 4 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Subash Khakurel scored a brilliant century to help Nepal post 258 for 8 in 50 overs before the spinners survived Sushil Nadkarni threat sharing 9 wickets between them to bowl out USA for 226 in 48.2 overs.

WCL 4: Magical Shakti sets up big win

Shakti Gauchan bowled a memorable spell to set up Nepal’s thumping 10-wicket victory over hosts Malaysia in the World Cricket League Division 4 at the Selangor Turf Club. Shakti’s figure 10-8-2-3, the best economy in one-dayers between nations, helped Nepal bowl out Malaysia to 69 all out in 32.1 overs before Nepali openers Anil Mandal (41 not out) and Subash Khakurel (24 not out) raced to victory in 12.2 overs finishing the match before lunch. WCL 4: Paras shines in big win against Tanzania

Nepal scored a thumping 8-wicket victory over African nation Tanzania to register second win in the World Cricket League Division 4 at the Bayemas Oval, Malaysia. After choosing to bat first, Tanzania was bowled out for 82 in 39.4 overs. Nepal chased the target in 19.4 overs in loss of two wickets.

WCL 4: Nepal begins with victory

Nepal began the World Cricket League Division 4 campaign with a thumping five-wicket victory over Singapore but not without worries over batting for upcoming matches. Man of the match Amrit Bhattarai was the key of Nepal’s victory with his impressive left-arm pace taking first four wickets to push the opponents in backfoot as early as possible.

Nepal to meet Singapore in WCL Div 4 opener

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the six squads that will travel to Malaysia for Pepsi ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Division 4 from 3 to 10 September. Nepal will play Singapore on the opening day of the event.

Binod named for Div 4

Former captain Binod Das was named in the final 14 for the ICC World Cricket League Division IV to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on September 1-10. This is probably the last opportunity for Binod, who last played for national team in ACC T20 Elite Cup in Kathmandu, to prove his utility.

Mehboob Alam dropped

Mehboob Alam is dropped from the national squad of the World Cricket League Division 4 in Malaysia while former captain Binod Das has made a return. According to a source at the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), all-rounder Alam and opener Paresh Lohani have not been included in the 18-member preliminary squad to be announced shortly.

Nepal thrashes Malaysia to stay alive

Nepal thrashed associate rival Malaysia by 107 runs on Sunday in the ACC U-19 Asia Cup as Sagar Pun and Rahul BK put up impressive performances. Nepal plays India in opener

Nepal will meet India in the opening match of the ACC U-19 Asia Cup at the Kinrara Oval, Kuala Lumpur on June 23. In the fixture published by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), Nepal will meet hosts Malaysia at Selangor Turf Club on June 25 and Pakistan at Royal Selangor Club on June 26.

Nepal beats China for third position

At least the conclusion of the ACC Women’s Twenty20 Championship was satisfactory as Nepal defeated China by 73 runs to secure the third-position at the Kinrara Oval, Malaysia. After scoring 103/5 off 20 overs, former captain Nary Thapa grabbed four wickets to bowl out the giant neighbors for 30 runs in 10.2 overs. And, it was a happy ending for Nary. She won the man of the match award as well as the best bowler of the tournament.

Hong Kong pips Nepal to go to final

For the first time in a short history of Asian Cricket Council’s women cricket, Nepal will not be competing for the title as Hong Kong register a thumping 7 wicket victory in the semifinal at the Bayemas Oval, Malaysia. Electing to field first, Hong Kong restricted Nepal to 76/6 in 20 overs and chased the target in 16.1 overs losing just three wickets.

Thailand ends Nepal’s march

Nepal’s unbeaten run in the ACC Women’s Twenty20 Championship came to an end when Thailand bowled brilliantly for a 23-run win to top the group table. Thailand bowled out Nepal for 57 in 15.1 overs to defend their total of 80/9 – thanks to player of the match Thanapan Saisud who took 4/8. Both teams have already proceed to the semifinals and the loss means Nepal now meets Hong Kong – the strongest looking team in the tournament – on Friday. Thailand plays either China or Malaysia.

Nary takes five as Nepal enters semifinal

Nepal booked a semifinal spot in the ongoing ACC Women’s Twenty20 Championship defeating Bhutan by 8 wickets at the Bayemas Oval, Malaysia. Nepal bowled out Bhutan for 31 in 15.5 overs – thanks to former captain Nary Thapa’s five wicket haul. Rest of the work was made easy that was completed in 8.4 overs losing just two wickets.

Sonu, Rekha set up Nepal’s victory over Qatar

Recovering from the Singaporean shock, Nepal bounced back to form to defeat Qatar by 8 wickets at the Kinrara Oval, Malaysia for the third straight win in the ACC Women’s Twenty20 Championship. Sonu Khadka bowled a splendid spell of 3/5 to help Nepal bowl out Qatar for 43 runs in 17.2 overs. The target was chased down in 9.1 overs for a eight-wicket win.

Five-for-Rubina sets Nepal’s victory

Rubina Chhetri bowled a sensational last over setting up Nepal’s 2-1 victory in a bowl-out over Singapore after the scores tied in the ACC Women’s Twenty20 Championship at the Selangor Turf Club, Malayasia. When the right-arm medium pacer from Biratnagar was asked to bowl the last over, in which Singapore needed two runs for victory with five wickets remaining, hardly anyone had expected a miracle. But Rubina pulled out miracle giving away a run and grabbing five wickets including a hat-trick – the first for Nepal.

Nepal defeats Iran by 62 runs

Nepali women proved experienced and strong for debutant Iran in the opening match of the ACC Women’s Twenty20 Championship with a 62-run victory at the Bayemas Oval. Neera Rajopadhyay was on top of her form scoring 39 off 58 balls with four boundaries to help Nepal score 109/3 in allotted 20 overs. Needing 110 for victory, Iran was bowled out for 47 in 15.4 overs.

Mission Malaysia: Girls get ready

It was pleasant to witness national cricket coach Roy Dias shouting at Nary Thapa to hit the ball over his head for a six and women”s coach Pradip Pandey telling Sonu Khadka to bowl on the line of off stump at the Tribhuwan University Cricket ground, where the women”s cricket team in undergoing closed camp training for the upcoming ACC Women”s Twenty20 Championship. Eighteen girls are in training, fighting for a place in the final 14 for the national team for the event scheduled to be held in Malaysia from July 3 to 11.

Squad named for ACC Women T20

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced the 18-member preliminary squad from among the 25 players in the closed-camp training for the ACC Women’s Twenty20 Championship. For the first time since Nepal began international participation, Nary Thapa will not be captaining the side as Ritu Kanaujiya has been named the captain for the side.
