Day II: Malaysia Answers Well

Host Malaysia have made 110 runs losing five wickets in their first innings as the rainfall curtailed the second day of the three-day match of the ACC Fast Track Nations Tournament between Malaysia and Nepal here at the Selangor Turf Ground today.

At stumps, Malaysian captain Suresh Navaratnam was unbeaten on 25 while leg-spinner Raj Kumar Pradhan and off-spinner Sanjam Regmi each took two wickets. The play was stopped for about three-and-half hours due to rainfall and only 57 overs were possible.

Nepali bowlers failed to claim any wicket on the first session of the play that lasted for 75 minutes. Malaysia resumed the innings from 35/1 and were 52/1 when the rainfall stopped the match.

Suresh Singh nicked a Raj Kumar delivery to wicket-keeper Manoj Katuwal in the second over after the rain stopped. Opener Rohan Selvaratnam ran himself out while trying for a second run as substitute fielder Kaniska Chaugai did a praiseworthy job.
