Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has formed a 78-member main organizing committee for the sucessful organization of the upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Under-19 Cricket Tournament beginning on November 8.
The committee is headed by Sports Minister Radha Krishna Mainali. The Assistant Sports Minister Senate Shrestha, National Sports Council member-secretary Kishore Bahadur Singh, CAN president Jai Kumar Nath Shah, vice-presidents Tarini Bikram Shah, Sri Niwas Rana and Tribhuvan University’s Prof. Dr. Govinda Prasad Sharma are nominated vice-chairman of the committee.
CAN secretary Laxman Prasad Bastola is the member-secretary while representatives of various institutions and organizations including that of NSC, CAN, various ministries, Nepal Sports Journalists’ Forum, Royal Nepalese Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force are nominated members.
The event, to be participated by age-group national teams of 15 Asian nations, is the biggest international sporting event to be held in Nepal.
