Seven Cricketers to MRF Pace Foundation

Co-sponsor of national cricket team Standard Chartered Bank presented training outfits to the seven cricketers selected for a 10-day training stint in MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai, India on Thursday.

Sujit Kumar Mundal, the bank CEO, also presented the outfits to national coach Roy Dias, who will also accompany the cricketers leaving on Sunday, June 24. Those selected for the training funded by Asian Cricket Council (ACC) are national captain Binod Das, Mehboob Alam, Paras Khadka (pace bowlers), Paresh Lohani, Dipendra Chaudhary, Sharad Vesawkar (batsmen) and Shakti Gauchan (spinner/all-rounder).

President of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) Binaya Raj Pandey informed that great Australian pace bowler and founder of the foundation Denis Lillee would be in Chennai for the training. “I hope our cricketers will have valuable experience there,” Pandey said.

He also said that CAN would announce new plans and program next year. “CAN will bring new plans and programs next year,” Pandey added. “Besides, we are also developing more infrastructure of cricket.”

“We have strong hope that the cricketers will return better and perform better for the team,” Mundal said on the occasion. Seven cricketers from seven Asian nations including their coaches are invited for the training beginning on June 24 and concluding on July 4. Those countries are Afghanistan, Oman, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, UAE and Nepal.
