The inaugural Twenty20 national cricket tournament will begin on June 2, Tuesday, according to Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).
The six-team inter-region Springwood Twenty20 National Cricket Tournament will also serve for the selection of players for the ACC Twenty20 Cup.
The top two teams from the round-robin league will proceed to the final. Region No 1 (Biratnagar), Region No 2 (Birgunj), Region No 3 (Kathmandu), Region No 4 (Bhairahawa), Region No 5 (Nepalgunj) and Region No 6 (Baitadi) will compete for the title.
Meanwhile, the regional Cricket Development Committee of Bhairahawa has named a 14- member squad for the tournament.
Shakti Gauchan is the skipper of the squad and Basanta Regmi is the vice captain. The other members of the squad are Manoj Baisya, Rijan Praju, Bijay Thapa, Faijal Khan, Kuldip Singh Bharati, Amrit Bhattarai, Rahul kumar BK, Aantim Thapa, Sagar Pun, Sagar Khadka, Lal Bahadur Adhikari and Aakash Gupta.
Shankhar Kumar Rana is the team coach and Prakash Pokhrel is the team manager.
