Seamer Mehboob Alam received a cash reward of Rs. 100,000 from national team sponsors Surya Nepal and Standard Chartered Bank for his 10-wicket haul during the closing ceremony of the Springwood National T20 Cricket Tournament at TU Cricket Ground.
Mehboob took all 10 wickets in a single match against Mozambique in the World Cricket League Division V tournament on May 25 last year.
He took the wickets in 7.5-over spell conceding 12 runs with one maiden over.
National team sponsor Surya Nepal and co-sponsors Standard Chartered Bank each gave Rs 50,000 each.
Nepali cricket’s governing body, Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), had awarded Meboob Rs 50,000 last year.
Mehboob is the only bowler till date to scalp perfect 10 in international cricket outside Test cricket. In Test cricket, Jim Laker of England and Anil Kumble of India have achieved the rare feat.
