Nepal registered third victory in the ACC U-19 Women’s Championship cricket tournament defeating Singapore by 70 runs at Yorker on Thursday.
Winning toss, Nepal elected to bat and scored 159/2 in 25 overs. Hosts Singapore were restricted to 89/9. After the win, Nepal is atop Group A with three wins and only a series of results not in favor can deny Nepal a place in semifinal.
Qatar, Hong Kong and Kuwait all have a win from two matches.
At Yorker, Manisha Rawal became the first Nepali woman to score a half-century making 62 not out while captain Nary Thapa remained unbeaten on 47.
Sita Rana and Sarita Magar each contributed 13 runs before being out.
For Singapore, V Sethi scored 44 and P Jain made 30 after Singapore lost seven wickets for 10 runs in 10 overs. It was Singapore’s third defeat in as many matches.
Rubina Chhetri and Nary took two wickets each while Sonu Khadka, Geeta Chudal and Shradda Aryal each took a wicket. Nary was declared player of the match.
Nepal plays Qatar in the last league match on Friday.
