SAARC T20 rescheduled
Cricket Board of Maldives (CBM) announced the new schedule for the SAARC Twenty20 Cup cricket tournament on Monday. The schedule has been revised after Bangladesh did not send a team. The tournament, originally scheduled to begin on Monday, was postponed by a day.

Captain hopes best from SAARC U25 Cup
Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) bode farewell to the Under-25 team which is leaving for Maldives on October 28 to compete in the SAARC U-25 Twenty20 Cup. National Sports Council (NSC) member-secretary Yubaraj Lama, newly appointed CAN vice-president TB Shah and other officials wished good luck to the team.
CAN dissolved, Anghubang appointed new president
National Sports Council (NSC) dissolved Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) ending Binaya Raj Pandey’s tenure and appointing Maoist central committee member Tanka Angbuhang the new president. NSC has mandated new CAN to amend stature within 15 days ensuring district representations in general assembly and holding election within two months. CAN to be dissolved
The sports governing body, National Sports Council (NSC), is all set to dissolve the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) ending Binaya Raj Pandey’s reign. According to Nagarik national daily, Maoist central member Tanka Angbuhang, 32, is all set to become new CAN president. “NSC is in the final stages of reshuffling CAN and there is likelihood of CAN being reshuffled on Oct 25 itself,” a senior official at NSC was quoted as saying to the daily newspaper. The official added that NSC is bound to dissolve CAN after it failed to conduct election as per government directives. Bank of Asia wins Super Sixes
The four days of corporate cricket celebrations came to a conclusion with Bank of Asia clinching the title of 13th Soaltee Crowne Plaza Super Sixes for the first time. Bank of Asia defeated five-time champion Embassy of India by 3 wickets in the final at the TU Cricket Ground.

Nepal drawn with Lanka, Pakistan
Nepal will play Sri Lanka in opening day of the SAARC Twenty20 Cricket Tournament as it is drawn in a tough group. Nepal is drawn in Group B along with Karnataka Institute of Cricket (KIC) of India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Bangaldesh’s team, Afghanistan, Bhutan and hosts Maldives are drawn in Group A.
The worry called cricket
If you were to visit Tribhuvan University Grounds these days, you could see Nepali cricketers, led by captain Paras Khadka, in practice drills. They are busy in preparation for the SAARC Under-25 Twenty20 Cricket, which Maldives will host. As the boys look sprightly during the net sessions, a rumor that yours truly heard this week comes as a flash. The story is: Recently, President of Cricket Association of Nepal, Binay Raj Pandey called Paras Khadka for a meeting. Paras send a message saying he would meet the new President of CAN, as the change of guards is likely.

Pakistan Embassy suppports CAN
The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu handed over cricket equipment to Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). Pakistan Embassy Charge d’ Affaires Ahmar Ismail handed over 50 sets of Pakistan made cricket equipment to National Sports Council (NSC) Member Secretary Yuvaraj Lama, CAN President Binay Raj Pandey and Vice President Upendra Bhattarai.

Ratnayake inspects Pokhara ground
Rumesh Ratnayake, the Development Officer at the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), visited the construction site of the Pokhara Cricket Ground. “He inspected the ground as ACC is financing it,” Kaski District Cricket Association chairman Devendra Praju said. “He was also informed about the situation of ground and other infrastructure.”

Nepal to participate in SAARC T20
Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) confirmed that Nepal will participate in the SAARC Under 25 Twenty20 Cricket Tournament to be organized in the Maldives from October 31 to November 7. CAN also announced 14-member team under Paras Khadka to participate in the event. Gyanendra Malla is named Paras’ deputy.
