Nepali U-19 cricket team, which reached Australia on Saturday to participate in the U-19 World Cup starting from August 4, lost its first practice match on Sunday against a local team in Darwin.
Northern Territory (NT) Strike Senior Team thrashed Nepali U-19 by 98 runs in the practice match. Nepal elected to field and the local team put up 281/7 in 50 overs. In reply, Nepal was all out for 183 runs. Naresh Budhaayer scored 53 runs while Faizlur Rahman added 50 runs.
“According to our team manager Kiran Rana, Faizlur had picked injury while fielding but he succeeded in scoring a half-century,” said Assistant Coach Jagat Tamata. He will leave Kathmandu on August 3.
