Pradhan to officiate in U19 WC

Nepali umpire Buddhi Pradhan is one of the officials named for the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup in Australia to be held from August 11 to 26.

Pradhan will officiate two practice matches – Zimbabwe vs Namibia & South Africa vs Bangladesh – on August 7 and 8 and three first round matches – Pakistan vs Afghanistan (Aug 11), Pakistan vs Scotland (Aug 13), Scotland vs Afghanistan (Aug 15) – in the U19 World Cup.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the appointments for warm-up and first round matches on August 3.

Pradhan is one of six members of the Associate and Affiliate Umpire Panel along with Ian Ramage, Mark Hawthorne, Sarika Prasad, Richard Smith and Courtney Young to officiate in the event.

David Boon, Roshan Mahanama (both from the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees) and Steve Bernard (ICC Regional Referee for the East-Asia Pacific) will be the match referees for the tournament.

Boon will be the match referee for all matches in Brisbane, Bernard will oversee matches in Sunshine Coast while Mahanama will supervise matches in Townsville, including the match at the Tony Ireland Stadium which is a broadcast venue.

International panel umpires include Ahsan Raza, Owen Chirombe, Johan Cloete, Enamul Hoque Moni, Chris Gaffaney, Richard Illingworth, Ranmore Martinez, Peter Nero, Paul Reiffel and Ravi Sundaram.
