Everest Challengers and Agni Air started the First Wai Wai Corporate Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament with wins on Tuesday. In the matches played at TU Ground, Kirtipur, Everest Challengers registered 21 runs victory over Global Bank while Agni Air defeated Chaudhary Group by 42 runs. Wai Wai Corporate Cricket in the offing
The First Wai Wai Corporate Premier League T-20 Cricket Tournament kicks off on Tuesday at the TU Ground, Kirtipur. Shangrila Cricket Academy is organizing the tournament in association with Chaudhary Group to raise awareness about the importance of hand washing. Cricket Association of Nepal is providing technical support for the tournament. Altogether 10 corporate houses are competing in the nine-day tournament. The participating teams are Everest Challengers, Nepal Telecom, Chaudhary Group, Global Bank, Private Public Partner, Agni Air, You We Challengers, Yeti Airlines, UNICEF and Max Media. Baitadi lift Wai Wai U-19 title
Region No 6 Baitadi, who won the National U-16 Cricket Tournament last month, proved to be an emerging power of domestic cricket as they clinched the Wai Wai U-19 National Cricket Tournament on Thursday. Baitadi edged past Region No 2 Birgunj by four wickets in the final of the Wai Wai U-19 at the TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur to claim the back-to-back titles. CAN announces U-16 team
Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced a 14-member team on Wednesday for the ACC U-16 Elite Cup to be held in Malaysia from May 4 to 13. The CAN picked the final 14 out of 19 players in the closed camp training for the tournament. Deependra Chand is the captain of the Nepali U-16 team, which includes Aadil Khan, Kali Charan Yadav, Shashi Bhusan Mishra, Nurdhwaj Sen, Jagadish Chand and Akash Bista. Likewise, Rabin Gupta, Aasif Sekh, Kushal Bhurtel, Rupesh Banstola, Mukunda Yadav, Alfaj Mansoori and Anup Neupane are other members of the team. Nitesh Thakur, Lokesh Jha, Ajay Sahani and Heman Rai are considered as reserve players. Manjur Alam Khan is the coach of the U-16 team.

Baitadi set up final clash with Birgunj
Region No 6 Baitadi fixed the title clash with Region No 2 Birgunj in the Wai Wai U-19 National Cricket Tournament on Thursday. Baitadi defeated defending champion Region No 4 Bhairahawa by two wickets in the last league match on Tuesday to fix the final spot. Net run rate came into count as Bhairahawa, Baitadi and Janakpur had equal four points from three matches. Domestic Coach for ACC U-16 Elite Cup
Nepali team for ACC U-16 Elite Cup is to be taken care of by domestic coach. Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has decided to keep Manjur Alam Khan as in-charge of the team, for the tournament that will be played in Malaysia from May 4. “Technical Committee had recommended Mahesh Rijal. Region No 2 Birgunj advanced into the final of the Wai Wai U-19 National Cricket Toiurnament with cent percent results in the league round of Group B. Birgunj defeated Region No 1 Biratnagar by seven wickets in the last league match of the group B played at TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur to register its third straight victory en route to the final. Final round of Marwari Cricket League from April 18
Nepal Marwari Cricket League will kick off from Wednesday at TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur. Only four teams will be competing in the super league round after securing the berths in the final round. The final four teams were selected from the qualifying rounds of the national league held in different districts around the country last month among the 24 teams. None of the top performers in the U-16 National Cricket Tournament held in March in Kathmandu have been called for the closed camp training of ACC U-16 Elite Cup Cricket Tournament to be held from May 2 to 13 inMalaysia. Lumbini lifted the title of Fourth National Blind Cricket Tournament defeating Kathmandu by six wickets on Thursday. With the win, Lumbini bagged Rs 14,000 while Kathmandu received Rs, 7,000. U-16 Elite Cup Fixture Released
The fixture of U-16 Elite Cup, to be played in Malaysia next month, has been released by Asian Cricket Council (ACC). According to the fixture, Nepal will take on Kuwait on May 4 at Bayuemas Ground. Nepal will take on Bahrain on May 6 at Kinrara, Iran on May 8 and will face Malaysia on May 9 at Kinrara ground. Nepal finished second after losing to Singapore in the first edition held in Nepal in 2010. Singapore, Hong Kong, Oman and Thailand is placed in group A. the match will be of 40 overs.

Shakti Gauchan getting a call from IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals has taken over Nepali online social media sphere by storm. The latest in the trend is people searching for Shakti Gauchan in the largest cricket portal in the world ESPNcricinfo. There have been several groups urging to ‘like’ Shakti’s page on cricinfo. As a result, his likes have skyrocketed to more than 700 in past couple of days. The ‘likes’ was less than 50 just a few days ago. Baitadi boys win maiden domestic title
Region No 6 Baitadi clinched the title of the U-16 National Cricket Tournament as they defeated Region No 4 Bhairahawa by six wickets on Thursday at the TU Cricket Ground. It was the maiden title victory for Baitadi in men’s section of domestic cricket. The title became first major achievement for Baitiadi after they were introduced as the sixth cricketing region in domestic cricket in 2063 BS. Dassanayake’s contract extended for a year
Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has extended the contract of coach Pubudu Dassanayake for a year. “Dassanayake’s contract has been extended by a year,” CAN member Diwakar Ghale said.
