Nepal announces squad against WCL matches vs Namibia
Nepal has announced national squad for the ICC World Cricket League Championship two one-day matches against Namibia to be played at the TU Ground on April 16 and 18. The 18-member Nepali team include Paras Khadka (skipper), Gyanendra Malla (vice-captain), Sagar Pun, Naresh Budha Ayer, Sharad Bheswakar, Binod Bhandari, Raju Rijal, Sandip Lamichhane, Susan Bhari, Basnata Regmi, Shakti Gauchan, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, and Rajesh Pulami. Three players from the U19 team that played the Youth World Cup in Bangladesh were named. They are wicket-keeper Raju Rijal, spinner Sandeep Lamichhane, and Susan Bhari. ICC to live stream four of Nepal’s matches
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the live-streaming schedule for the upcoming ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier UAE 2013, which commences in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Friday. Sixteen matches from the group stages, including four to be played by Nepal, will be live-streamed on the ICC’s official website, www.icc-cricket.com.
WCL Div III set to begin
For six Associate and Affiliate sides, the latest step on the road to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 in Australia and New Zealand is about to commence in Bermuda. WCL 4: Subash hits century to beat USA
Nepal came up with a brilliant performance all round to beat United States of America by 32 runs in the World Cricket League Division 4 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Subash Khakurel scored a brilliant century to help Nepal post 258 for 8 in 50 overs before the spinners survived Sushil Nadkarni threat sharing 9 wickets between them to bowl out USA for 226 in 48.2 overs.
WCL 4: Magical Shakti sets up big win
Shakti Gauchan bowled a memorable spell to set up Nepal’s thumping 10-wicket victory over hosts Malaysia in the World Cricket League Division 4 at the Selangor Turf Club. WCL 4: Paras shines in big win against Tanzania
Nepal scored a thumping 8-wicket victory over African nation Tanzania to register second win in the World Cricket League Division 4 at the Bayemas Oval, Malaysia. After choosing to bat first, Tanzania was bowled out for 82 in 39.4 overs. Nepal chased the target in 19.4 overs in loss of two wickets.
WCL 4: Nepal begins with victory
Nepal began the World Cricket League Division 4 campaign with a thumping five-wicket victory over Singapore but not without worries over batting for upcoming matches. The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the six squads that will travel to Malaysia for Pepsi ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Division 4 from 3 to 10 September. Nepal will play Singapore on the opening day of the event.
Binod named for Div 4
Former captain Binod Das was named in the final 14 for the ICC World Cricket League Division IV to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on September 1-10. This is probably the last opportunity for Binod, who last played for national team in ACC T20 Elite Cup in Kathmandu, to prove his utility.
Shakti, Paresh recalled in national squad
Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced final 14 players on Wednesday for the ICC World T20 Qualifiers to be held in the UAE from March 13 to 23. The CAN recalled spinner Shakti Gauchan and opening batsman Paresh Lohani into the national squad. Lohani had pulled out his name from the team for the Pepsi World Cricket League Division 5 held in Kathmandu in February 2010 citing personal reasons. Team off to Mumbai
A 23-member cricket team, including 18 players, left Kathmandu on Monday for a practice tour to Mumbai, India as Nepali national team is preparing for the upcoming ICC World T20 Qualifiers to be held in the UAE on March. Nepali team, led by Coach Pubudu Dassanayake and Captain Paras Khadka, will play six T20 matches and two 50-over matches in Mumbai during the tour. The tam will reach Bhairahawa by road and take train to reach Mumbai on February 2.
Binod Das dropped, Lohani in
Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) dropped former captain Binod Das and named preliminary 18-member national squad on Tuesday for the upcoming ICC World T20 Qualifiers to be held in the UAE on March. The CAN has called in Paresh Lohani in the preliminary squad.

Nepal, Hong Kong and Afghanistan are grouped together in the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers to be held in UAE from March 13 to 24, 2012. Pakistan beat Nepal out of SAARC Cup
Nepal created enough points to beat Pakistan in the SAARC Twenty20 Cup, but faltered in crunch times to bow out of the event with a big 73-run defeat in Maldives. Pakistan scored 176/9 in 20 overs and restricted Nepal for 203/9 to proceed to the semifinals along with Sri Lanka from Group B.

Dhanushka Gunatillake scored a brilliant century as Sri Lanka outplayed Nepal by 76 runs on the opening day of the SAARC Twenty20 Cup in Maldives. With man of the match Gunatillake’s 105, Sri Lanka raced to 240 for 4 in 20 overs. Nepal only managed 164 for 9 in 20 overs.
National one-day, T20 from next week
Two major cricket tournament will kick off in Kathmandu back to back as Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) expanded the domestic league to incorporate four more teams. Region No 7 Janakpur, Region No 8 Pokhara, Armed Police Force (APF) Club and Nepal Police Club (NPC) will participate in the Standard Chartered One-Day National Cricket to start on May 3, and Twenty20 National Cricket set to begin on May 14.

Nepalgunj wins Wai Wai Women’s National
Nary Thapa is the icon of woman cricket and she once again proved it leading her Region No 5 Nepalgunj to the title off the wai Wai Women’s National Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at the TU Cricket Ground. Inspired by Nary’s unbeaten 37 and two wickets, Nepalgunj beat Region No 6 Baitadi by 37 in the final. Nary lifted the champions’ trophy along awards for best bowler and player of the tournament.

Nepalgunj to take Baitadi in final
Region No 5 Nepalgunj fixed the final date with Region No 6 Baitadi in the Wai Wai Women’s National Cricket Tournament. Sita Shahi’s all-round performance pulled off a 28-run victory for Nepalgunj against hosts Region No 3 Kathmandu while Baitadi thrashed Region No 4 Bhairahawa by 8 wickets in the semifinals played at the TU Cricket Ground.

Baitadi into semi with Janaki’s half-century
Region No 6 Baitadi thrashed Region No 1 Biratnagar by six wickets on Sunday in a crucial match to book semifinal berth in the Wai Wai Women’s National Cricket Tournament. Either team had the chance of qualifying for the semifinal with the win but Baitadi proved to be superior in the crucial match of group ‘B’ at the IOE Ground.

Nepalgunj qualify for semifinals
Region No 5 Nepalgunj booked a place in the semifinal of the Wai Wai Women´s National Twenty20 Cricket Tournament beating Region No 1 Biratnagar by eight wickets at the IOE Ground. Captain Nary Thapa took four wickets to bowl out Biratnagar for 43 in 14.3 overs and scored unbeaten 16 runs as Nepalgunj surpassed the total in 8 overs losing just two wickets.

Sarita takes Kathmandu to semifinal
Region No 3 Kathmandu entered the semifinal of the Wai Wai Women’s National Twenty20 Cricket Tournament beating Region No 7 Janakpur by 3 wickets in a nail-biting finish at IOE Ground while Region No 4 Bhairahawa topped the Group A table with third win in a row. Sarita Magar of Kathmandu was the hero of the victory who single-handedly took Kathmandu past Janakpur’s 72 in the last ball of the match.

Biratnagar, Nepalgunj register win
Region No 1 Biratnagar and Region No 5 Nepalgunj won their respective match in the Wai Wai Women´s National Cricket Tournament. Biratnagar defeated Region No 8 Pokhara by 25 runs while Nepalgunj upset Region No 6 Baitadi by 35 runs at the IOE Ground.

Bhairahawa confirms semifinal, Janakpur wins
Region No 4 Bhairahawa confirmed a place in semifinal of the Wai Wai Women’s National Twenty20 after beating Region No 3 Kathmandu by 22 runs at the IOE Ground, Pulchowk as Region No 7 Janakpur kept hopes alive beating Region No 2 Birgunj by 78 runs in Group A matches. Janakpur and Kathmandu will play on January 7 with the winners taking another semifinal spot from the group.

Kathmandu, Bhairahawa win in Women’s T20
The Wai Wai Women’s National Twenty20 Cricket Tournament began with emphatic victories to Region No 4 Bhairahawa and Region No 3 Kathmandu at the IOE Ground. Kathmandu needed just 6.4 overs to knock of Region No 2 Birgunj’s 33/8 to win by 9 wickets while Bhairahawa surpassed Region No 7 Janakpur’s 102/6 with four balls to spare for a 7-wicket victory.
