ACC Lifetime Service Award for Pandey
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has decided to honor Binaya Raj Pandey, the president of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), with the ACC Lifetime Service Award under the Pepsi ICC Development Programme Awards 2010. With the regional award, ACC has nominated Pandey for the ICC Lifetime Achievement Award which will be announced on February 28 in Dubai from among the regional winners of five ICC Development Regions.

SAG fixture changes; India not to play
he fixture and structure of the Twenty20 cricket in the 11th South Asian Games has been changed after India and Afghanistan decided not to compete of the event. According to Nepal Olympic Committee, cricket will be now played on the round-robin league between the five participating teams – Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and the Maldives. Top two teams will vie for the gold medal while third and fourth-place team will play for bronze.
ACC U-16 Elite Cup fixture released
Nepal will open its campaign in the ACC U-16 Elite Cup against Hong Kong at the TU Cricket Ground on March 8. Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) released the fixture for the inaugural U-16 event to be held in Kathmandu.
Avinash helps Birgunj lift U-16 title
Captain Avinash Karn displayed a sensational bowling performance to help Region No 2 Birgunj lift the Boost U-16 National League Cricket Tournament defeating Region No 4 Bhairahawa by 36 runs at the TU Cricket Ground. Avinash took seven wickets as Birgunj bowled out Bhairahawa for 74 runs in 22.4 overs after scoring 110 in 35.3 overs in the final.

Birgunj remains unbeaten
Region No 2 Birgunj practiced for the final with a 35-run win over hosts Region No 3 Kathmandu and remained unbeaten in the robin-league round with five victories. At BSAM, they scored 187/7 and bowled out Kathmandu for 152. Meanwhile, Region No 5 Nepalgunj emerged the winner of the far-west honor battle with a huge 147-run victory over Region No 6 Baitadi at IOE Ground.

Nepal to meet India, Pakistan in SAG
Nepal has been drawn along with India, Pakistan and Afghanistan in Group B for the South Asian Games (SAG) cricket, according to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). In Group A, Sri Lanka, hosts Bangladesh and Maldives will play. SAG Cricket is the Twenty20 event for the U-21 teams of the region and has been included for the first time in regional sports meet.
National Team defeats U-21 in practice
After losing out Twenty20 by a wicket, National Team made the contest even with a 90-run victory over the U-21 Team in a 40-over practice match at the TU Cricket Ground. National Team scored 193/9 in 40 overs – thanks to Shakti Gauchan’s 82 after Paras Khadka chose to bat first. In reply, U-21 Team was bowled out for 103 in 30 overs.
Bhairahawa in final beating Kathmandu
Region No 4 Bhairahawa entered the final of the Boost U-16 National League Cricket Tournament defeating hosts Region No 3 Kathmandu in a crucial league match by eight wickets. Nischal Pandey emereged hero of the victory with an all-round performance while in the other dead-match, Region No 5 Nepalgunj defeated Region No 1 Biratnagar by three wickets.

Bhairahawa, Kathmandu win in U-16
Region No 4 Bhairahawa and Region No 3 Kathmandu continued their hopes of qualifying to the final of the Boost U-16 National League Cricket Tournament winning their respective matches. Bhairahawa defeated Region No 5 Nepalgunj by 37 runs at the BSAM Ground and Kathmandu beat Region No 1 Biratnagar by four wickets at the IOE Ground.

SAG team beat national team
The U-21 cricket team sent an alarming bell to the national squad defeating them in a Twenty20 practice match by a wicket at the TU Cricket Ground on Saturday. The U-21 team is training for the 11th South Asian Games while the national team is preparing for the ICC World Cricket League Division 5.

Birgunj enters final beating Bhairahawa
Region No 2 Birgunj continued its unbeaten streak thrashing Region No 4 Bhairahawa by 10 wickets at the BSAM Ground to reach the final of the Boost U-16 National League Cricket Tournament. After bowling out Bhairahawa for 59 runs in 20.2 overs, Birgunj openers needed 13 overs to register their fourth victory in as many matches. In the other match of the day, Region No 6 Baitadi defeated Region No 1 Biratnagar by four wickets.

Avinash helps Birgunj go atop
Avinash Karn led Region No 2 Birgunj atop the points table of the Boost U1-6 National League Cricket Tournament helping them to win third matches in a row. Birgunj beat Region No 5 Nepalgunj by four wickets as Avinash rescued his team scoring 50 not out while chasing 195/6 at IOE Ground. In another match of the day at BSAM Ground, Region No 3 Kathmandu defeated Region No 6 Baitadi by six wickets.

Washim’s 64 stuns Kathmandu
Washim Halwai scored a half-century as Region No 5 Nepalgunj stunned hosts Region No 3 Kathmandu by four wickets in the Boost U-16 National League Cricket Tournament at the IOE Ground. Kathmandu won the toss and elected to bat first. They got a good start as Dilman Rokka and Sharad Khadka scored 41 in 8.4 overs. But they suffered due to the lack of big scores from batsmen and a collapse of the tail-end.

WCL Div 5 schedule released
Nepal will play Jersey in the opening day of the World Cricket League Division 5 at the BSAM Ground, Bhaktapur on February 20. The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the fixture for the six-nation event on January 6.

Paresh pulls out of WCL Div 5
Paresh Lohani, Nepal’s most successful batsman has pulled out of the ICC World Cricket League Division 5 training citing personal reasons. Paresh, 30, informed Cricket Association of Nepal about his inability to participate in the six-nation event to be held in Kathmandu from February 20-30.

Birgunj, Bhairahawa continue winning
Region No 2 Birgunj and Region No 4 Bhairahawa continued their winning streak with victories on the second day of the Boost U-16 National League Cricket Tournament. Birgunj defeated Region No 6 Baitadi by 35 runs at TU Cricket Ground and Bhairahawa beat Region No 1 Biratnagar by 122 runs at the IOE Ground. It was second defeats in as many matches for both losing teams.

Birgunj stun Biratnagar; Bhairahawa win
Region No 2 Birgunj stunned Region No 1 Biratnagar in the opening match of the Boost Under-16 National League Cricket Tournament as Region No 4 Bhairahawa beat Region No 6 Baitadi. In a match played at the IOE Ground, Birgunj defeated Biratnagar by 3 wickets while Bhairahawa won by 44 runs at the TU Cricket Ground. Early blow put Biratnagar on the backfoot after they won the toss and elected to bat first. Two run outs and a brilliant bolwing by Birgunj captain Avinash Karn put the Eastern side at 7/4 in 2.4 overs and they did not recover good from then onwards.

CAN announces U-16 National fixture
Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announces the fixture for the inaugural Boost U-16 National League Cricket Tournament. The six regional teams’ league will be played in the Kathmandu Valley from January 4 to 13. The event is preparatory for the ACC U-16 Elite Cup to be held in March in Kathmandu.
